Lab Consultation
Tell us about your sample and what you’re trying to see. Our applications team will reply with a prep recommendation, consumable suggestions, or a follow-up call if it’s faster.
How can we help?
The more we know about your material, your equipment, and what you’re trying to evaluate, the sharper our recommendation. Photos help.
Lab Consultation FAQ
What is a lab consultation?
A conversation with our applications team about your metallographic sample preparation. Share your material, what you’re trying to evaluate, and your current setup. We reply with a prep recommendation, consumable suggestions, or a follow-up call.
Is there a cost?
Most consultations are free, including prep recommendations, consumable suggestions, and short follow-up calls. More involved engagements such as custom prep-method development, on-site lab visits, or hands-on sample analysis at our Tucson lab may be quoted based on scope. We’ll always be clear about cost before any paid work begins.
Do I need to own PACE equipment?
No. We help labs at every stage, from labs evaluating their first metallographic setup, to labs with mixed equipment, to labs that outsource prep entirely. Our recommendations match what you actually have on the bench.
How quickly will I hear back?
We reply within two business days. Complex samples with photos may take the full window while the team reviews them and writes up a recommendation; simpler questions often come back sooner.
Can I send sample photos?
Yes, and we encourage it. A macro photo, an as-polished image, or an etched micrograph helps us pinpoint where the prep is going wrong and what to adjust. Attach images directly in the form.
What if I just need a price?
Use the quote page for pricing on equipment and consumables. Use lab consultation when the question is which equipment or consumable is right for your sample.
